Which Büro location do you work out of?
South Beach
What does your company do, and what is your role?
Next Generation Yachting specializes in the selling and purchasing of yachts and catamarans. I'm the Founder and Director of the company.
What do you like best about your job?
I love that there isn't a day that looks the same as the next. A 'Groundhog Day' kind of life isn't for me (even if I do love that movie)! I like that I can start my day with a meeting or taking care of emails and suddenly receive a call from either a captain or a yacht owner asking me if I can meet with them to sell their yacht. Another part of my business is to work with business owners of various nationalities on a very personal level. My work never gets boring and is always challenging.
What is your business motto/philosophy?
Not to be the bigger company out there but the best. Our focus is on quality, follow up, building personal relationships, and most importantly, our client having fun and enjoying every moment of their yachting experience.
South FL native since:
2006
Hometown (if not South FL):
Bordeaux, France
What are your favorite Miami/Hollywood hangouts and activities?
Boating with friends, of course! I love going to the Standard Hotel on Friday evenings to watch the sunset, SoHo House for events, and Sardinia Restaurant for lunch with my team.
What's one (surprising, interesting, funny, awesome) thing you'd like for Büro members to know about you?
I started my career working on commercial fishing trawler boats on the border of Spain and France in 1997. From there I moved into the yachting industry due to life changes, location changes, and challenging myself every day.
What do you like best about working at Büro?
It's the spirit! Everyone is working hard to be their own boss. There's no corporate stress; only like-minded people looking to achieve their dream.
What crazy adventure would you want to take?
So many! In September I'm planning on going fly fishing for Tarpon in the Rio San Juan, Nicaragua, on the Atlantic side of the Costa Rican border. I'm not sure if that falls into the 'crazy adventures' category, but I'm excited about it!
What are your secret survival strategies?
Survival? If we're talking about a zombie attack, I'd probably take a sailboat and cruise to some Pacific island. If it's survival in my everyday life, my answer is pretty much the same except I wouldn't go that far. Just a day on the water is enough.
What's your comfort food?
The one I make!
What movies do you watch, or reference, over and over?
It's not a movie, but a book called 'Papillon'. I've always loved the story, the characters, and the philosophy behind it.
