Q&A
Büro member since:
2016
Which Büro location do you work out of?
MiMo
What do you like best about your job?
Ultimately, our work is aimed at making people happier. Smiles are very satisfactory!
What is your business motto/philosophy?
"If you want Portland to give to you, you have to give to Portland." Admittedly it was my best friend from Portland, Mandy, who said it first. I was new to the city and expected so much. If you want an experience to give something to you, you have to give something to the experience.
Miami native since:
2012
Hometown (if not Miami):
Ames, Iowa
What are your favorite Miami hangouts and activities?
Cruise ships! Seriously. Don't believe me? Let me point you in the right direction - there is something for everyone! Besides cruise ships, anything on the water. Day or night, Miami is such a beautiful city to experience from a kayak, SUP (standup paddleboard), or boat.
What do you like best about working at Büro?
Members at Büro have vitality - whether they're in an office, a desk or a seat, everyone is thriving! Daily, it's inspiring to be apart of a culture of strong, active small business owners. What's more: we've collaborated with several Büro members on projects. Our brand and our clients are better because of the Büro community.
What crazy adventure would you want to take?
A "cruise" ship to Mars! Shuffleboard and Prosecco-pong would be a whole other level.
What are your secret survival strategies?
In no particular order: If you're having fun, you're number one; don't walk into a forest for 10 minutes and expect to get out in 5; experience is the product is the experience is the product...
What's your comfort food?
Tacos
What movies do you watch, or reference, over and over?
My all-time favorite movie is "Big", starring Tom Hanks. I can watch it again and again! I watched it so much as a kid, I started teaching myself the piano to recreate the FAO Schwartz scene.
