Which Büro location do you work out of?
MiMo
What does your company do, and what is your role?
YPO is a worldwide network of company Presidents and CEOs that aims to create better leaders through education and idea exchange. I oversee all of the day-to-day activity, as well as the 40+ events we do each year from small breakfasts to gala dinners with 200 people in attendance.
What do you like best about your job?
I am surrounded by some of the smartest business people in our community and have access to the incredible educational experiences that we provide for them during the year. I've learned so much over the years, and the members and their families have always been very kind and respectful of me.
What is your business motto/philosophy?
I fully subscribe to our chapter's core values - 'Be humble, be a lifelong learner, and be a confidant'.
Miami native since:
1999
Hometown (if not Miami):
I was born in London, England, and moved to Marbella, Spain when I was 13.
What are your favorite Miami hangouts and activities?
My husband and I are big foodies and love to try new restaurants and cook at home (our favorite hangout). I really enjoy brunch on Sundays at Soho with friends and the kids, then an afternoon at the pool or beach. We also have a Vizsla puppy, so long walks in the park seem to take up much of my time right now.
What's one (surprising, interesting, funny, awesome) thing you'd like for Büro members to know about you?
I used to sing professionally at a piano bar in Marbella. Now I get to enjoy hearing my daughters sing - they both have beautiful voices.
What do you like best about working at Büro?
Coming to Büro brought me back into a vibrant office environment. Having that energy around me is really important. It also gave me a reason to put on regular clothes and makeup!
What crazy adventure would you want to take?
I've never been to Asia. It's on my to-do list.
What are your secret survival strategies?
Not sure I have any other than just to keep going!
What's your comfort food?
This is so English - I grew up on toast, salty butter, and marmite (google it - a love/hate food for many).
What movies do you watch or reference over and over?
Not a lot of time for watching over and over, but I have to say that I will watch "Love Actually" every Christmas.
