Which Büro location do you work from?
South Miami
What does your company do, and what is your role?
Steelite International is a world leading manufacturer and supplier of award winning tabletop and buffet solutions for the hospitality industry. Listening to our customers has allowed us to offer innovative solutions in china, metal, glass, wood and melamine. Servicing over 140 countries, we are committed to offering the best in functionality and design, while minimizing the effect on our environment. As Senior VP of International Markets, I work with other Regional Sales & Operational Heads in developing customer relationships and managing the following territories: Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East & Africa, East Asia, and Australia.
What do you like best about your job?
Some of the top restaurants in the world are hidden gems where Chefs take risks (driven by passion) to showcase unique food interpretations; I love dining out at those venues.
What is your business motto/philosophy?
Teamwork makes the dream work. I'm a big proponent that a healthy team culture produces the best results for a business. Nurturing talent and empowering people are essential keys to our success.
South Florida native since:
2009-2015 and then again from 2019-Present.
Hometown (if not South Florida)?
San Juan, Puerto Rico.
What are your favorite local hangouts and activities?
I travel frequently, so when I'm not on the road, home is where I love to hang out. Plus, my wife and I enjoy cooking for and hosting friends and family at our house! When we eat out (with our 3-year old son) we usually frequent Joanna's Marketplace, La Pizza SoMi, and/or Ornos Miami.
What's one (surprising, interesting, funny, awesome) fact you'd like Büro members to know about you?
I'm passionate about coffee. At home, I have a Quick Mill Silvano Evo Espresso Machine where I pull an awesome espresso shot; I once took a two-day Barista course (while living in Toronto), just so I could pull the perfect shot. And yes, when I'm home, I pamper my wife with unlimited lattes ON DEMAND.
What do you like best about working at Büro?
Everyone's there on a mission to succeed at their own craft. Plus, it's a great environment to network and find potential business collaborations.
Tell us a "bucket list" item!
Starting a bakery and coffee roastery with my wife.
What 3 items would you bring with you on a deserted island?
Granted that I'm on this deserted island with my wife & son, I'd bring our espresso machine (obviously) + milk, our sourdough starter, and my son's favorite books. Everybody wins!
What's your comfort food?
Tortellino Food Truck (8100 SW 104th St, Miami)
What movies do you watch or reference over and over?
I know it may sound corny, but I've seen Disney's "Cars" (with my 3-year old son) maybe 15+ times. We quote Lighting McQueen & Mater all the time!
